The seventh of ten children, Robert Beltran was born into a growing Mexican-American Family. During high school, he played baseball and football. It was not until he left for college that he considered studying to become an actor. He attended Fresno State University and graduated with a degree in theatrical arts.
Upon moving to Los Angeles, he received his first film role in the movie Zoot Suit. Since then, he has had many TV, film, and theater roles.
Because of his role on ST:V, Beltran recived the Nostros Golden Eagle Award for best actor in a TV series. (The award is presented to artists whose work presents a positive Hispanic image.
At the present time he is unmarried.
