David Duchovny was born in NYC to a Russian Jewish Father and a Scottish mother.

As a youngster he won a scholarship to the prestigious Collegiate Preparatory School in NY. He continued on to Princeton, where he played baseball and basketball. At Yale he received a master's degree in English. He is currently a dissertation away from a Ph D in English from Yale.

He married Tea Leoni in May 1997 and two years later his first child, Madeline West, was born.

Duchovny made his feature film debut with a small role as a party goer in Working Girl.
